Our new Fall 2022 student veterans enjoyed a tour of Grounds followed by refreshments and pizza by the Corner.
Following the withdrawal of U.S. military troops from Afghanistan in August of 2021, a surge of Afghan refugees sought to seek asylum in the United States. Before the fall semester of 2021 began, the SVA started a donation drive to support Afghan refugees in need. All proceeds were donated to the International Rescue Committee of Charlottesville, whose assistance programs include: resettlement, employment services, education and integration, and family support.

In collaboration with local Charlottesville brewery Three Notch'd, the SVA produced the "Never Forget APA" during the summer of 2021. Proceeds from the brew were donated to the International Rescue Committee of Charlottesville to support Afghan refugees seeking asylum in the United States.
